OUR STUDENTS

Ensuring a safe, nurturing and supportive environment is key to our students’ learning, developing, and exceeding their own expectations.

We believe students learn best when:

  • They believe they can learn

  • There is differentiation

  • The classroom and school environment supports their emotional, social, cultural and educational needs
  • The learning is authentic

  • They feel respected

  • There is a positive relationship between teacher and student

  • Teachers provide explicit feedback designed to reduce the gap between a student’s current level of understanding and a higher level of understanding.

OUR TEACHERS

We consider timely professional development as an important part of maintaining professional standards as well as ensuring our units of work are Christ Centred and biblically based.

We believe that as teachers we must:

  • Believe all children can learn

  • Display enthusiasm and passion for what we teach

  • Work together as a professional learning community intent on improving students’ achievements

  • Set achievable but challenging class tasks

  • Provide differentiated learning activities

  • Provide a quality classroom environment in which all students feel valued and respected by the teacher and by fellow students

  • Work hard to develop positive relationships with all students

  • Know our subject matter well

  • Maintain high expectations of our students

  • Keep learning

Lower Primary

PREP TO YEAR 2

Beginning with a natural wonder and curiosity about the world and their place within it.

Upper Primary

Building on foundations and grasping exciting new opportunities.

Middle School

YEARS 6 TO 9

An important transitional stage where relationships and belonging become a core aspect of learning.

Senior School

Graduating as educated, independent, creative, and resilient problem solvers

I have been at Carmichael College since I was in Prep. The education is great because the teachers explain everything so you can understand it. I also like our chapels where we get to learn more about Jesus.
